EVERY JOURNEY STARTS WITH A STEP
LADDERS
Have you wondered why a ladder is filled with steps? Or why are those steps connected to the rails? I will be discussing something interesting about ladders.
A ladder is a frame of wood, metal, or aluminum used for ascent and descent, consisting of two side pieces to which are fastened rungs.
Figuratively, a ladder may be a series of stages through which one progresses to a better position, a ranking system within an organization.
There are three parts common to all types of ladders: the feet, the safety rails, and the steps.
THE FEET
The feet are the basic support and the only stance for the ladder; the feet are also an extension of the rails, and the rails connect the steps.
With this, we see that having good feet is expedient to producing a satisfactory outcome while using the ladder.
In a real sense, your feet are your motive; why should I go to a university? Why am I taking this course? The question "why" should be properly asked to have a strong motive.
THE RAILS
The rails have to do with "who" and "what". They give support and safety on the ladder, and this has to do with:
1. The right relationship
2. Equal-minded communities
3. Mentors
4. Systems
5. Policies; and
6. principles that are connected to the same "feet."
No type of ladder's rail is connected to the foot of another ladder.
THE STEPS
"How" and "when" you carry out this motive and create these systems and well-defined principles are what make the steps. This may seem like the final stage, but it is dependent on other factors, like:
How well did you answer the question "why?"
Do you have someone or something you would like to become?
What do you see and listen to?
However, you can have very good motives and quality support, yet have no strategies or steps to carry them out.
Finally...
The ladder represents the journeys we must embark on as humans. However, without the correct motive and a good support system, one will be tossed around by the whirlwind.
Derive and define your motives before taking any step; your motives will automatically produce a supportive rail that will guide you on the path to success and victory.
Do not be scared of taking steps; you don’t fail by taking steps; you are learning and becoming better at it.
Now that you know why the ladder needs feet, rails, and steps, your journey also needs feet, rails, and steps.
